Admission

Documents to be submitted along with the application form for LL.B. course::

i.2 copies of the filled-up form issued to him/her.
ii.2 copies of recent passport size photograph.
iii.2 copies of age proof certificate.
iv.2 copies of mark sheet of qualifying examination (i.e. graduation)
v.2 copies of pass certificate of the qualifying examination.
vi.2 copies of registration certificate.
vii.2 copies of caste certificate in case of the candidate belonging to ST/SC.
viii.2 copies of migration certificate in case of the student qualified from other university.

1. LL.B. 3 year (semester system) course:

Admission to the first year of the 3- year, LL.B. degree programme is made strictly on merit. To be eligible for admission, a candidate must pass the Bachelor degree under any stream or its equivalent recognized by the university, securimg 45% marks in aggregate in case of general category applicants and 40% marks in case of ST/SC and OBC applicants, and be less than 30 years of age as on 1st Jan, of the year of admission for general and 35 years or less for ST/SC/OBC.

 
Intake capacity:the total number of seat is 120(One Hundred and Twenty). 
2. B.A./LL.B. (Hons.): 5 year Integrated course:
 
Eligibility and admission procedure:
 
A common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the university for admission. Candidates who have passed the Higher secondary examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination securing not less than 45% marks in aggregate are eligible to seat for Common Admission Test (CAT).There is a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.The candidates should be less than or equal to 20 years on 1st january of the year of admission for general and 22 years or less for ST/SC/OBC.

Intake capacity:The total number of seat is 60(Sixty).Medium of Instruction::English.

Student

The college office remains open from 10 am to 5 pm in summer session and 10 am to 4 pm in winter session in all working days. The college library also follows the same schedule.
The time schedule of classes for different courses are as follows::
5 year Integrated BA LLB.(H) course::10 am – 2.30 pm
3 year LL.B. Course: 12 am – 4 pm

Fees Structure

The fee structure is noticed at the time of admission.

End Semester Test

No student of any of the degree programme shall be allowed to take the end semester test in a subject if the student concerned has not attended minimum of 70% the classes held in the subject concerned.
However, the principal of the centre of legal education may allow a student to take the test for special reason if his attendance falls short of 5% of the prescribe limit.

The Jorhat Law college Library has a rich collection of text books in both Law and social science and reference books. The library has an open access system and the students must help to maintain the order and organization of the collection in different shelves.
