Name of the Course: LL.M under Dibrugarh University
Duration: 2(Two)Years [ Total 4 semesters ]
A candidate to take admission in LL.B must have 50% marks in aggregate in LL.B-3 years/ B.A.-B. Sc-B. Com.LL.B-5 years (in any 5 years integrated course) recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC) and Bar Council of India (BCI).
There will be 5% relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/Disable Candidates.
The candidates appearing in final year examination in aforesaid courses may also apply but at the time of admission they must produce result of aforesaid course.
The university will notify in the month of April-May every year for admission in LL.M Course.
The admission to LL.M course will be made only on merit in Entrance Test to be conducted by the university/Centre in the month of June every year.
The University/Centre will constitute an Admission Committee to prepare for and conduct of Entrance Test and prepare a merit list of eligible candidates on the basis of the Entrance Test and display the same on the notice board fifteen days prior to the date of admission.
There will be one paper for 3-hours for LL.M. entrance test which will comprise Indian Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Environment Law, International Law, Procedural and Evidence Laws, Family Laws, Laws of Torts, Business Law.
The LL.M entrance test paper will comprise 150 objective questions for total 300 marks.
Total intake in LL.M will be only twenty respective Centre/College.
Admission cannot be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. The admission or re-admission of a candidate shall be entirely at the discretion of the Admission committee, which may refuse or admit any student without assigning any reason therefor.
On being selected for admission, the student has to appear before admission committee with all original certificates and requirements on scheduled date and time. Failing which will disqualify him and the next candidate in ranking will allowed to take admission.
If any candidate fails to deposit prescribed fee within stipulated time, his admission will be automatically deemed to be cancelled.
In, admission, there will be reserved of 7.5% for ST, 15% for SC, 27% for OBC, 3% for disabled who are resident of Assam. Further there will be 10 marks weightage in entrance test for those students who have passed Law course in last academic session or are appeared in final examination from Dibrugarh University.
Subject to appearance in Entrance Test, One seat will be reserved for the son/daughter of a permanent teacher of the centre, if applies.
